Meet Anja Fichtel-Mauritz, born Anja Fichtel on August 17, 1968, a German fencer. At the ’88 Summer Olympics in Seoul, she took home gold in both individual and team events.

She also snagged the individual World Championship title in ’86 and ’90. Rockin’ with the German national team, she won World Championships in ’85, ’89, and ’93, and nabbed silver in the team event at the ’92 Olympics. From ’86 to ’96, she was the undisputed German champ.
