I note that unlike most other notable female helmed misandrist films "The Substance" is NOT about how evil men are. Men are MUCH BETTER at critiquing men through cinema than women are, at least in the Anglosphere. Meanwhile in "The Substance" the men in the film are assholes but Demi/Margaret is literally, and quite graphically, HER OWN worst enemy.
Anyway, the third act runs a bit long but that caveat aside "The Substance" is a SUPERB film, and all hail Margaret Qualley's PERFECT ASS (you'll know what I mean when you see this great film).
