I believe this film has earned something like $172 million worldwide thus far. I think it has about an 80% Critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 90% Audience score on Rotten Tomatoes so far, so although a lot of the talk is that it is mediocre, etc., it seems to be doing quite well in reality. I happened to check the weekend box office last night and Rotten Tomatoes {I follow certain movies although I rarely watch any of them.} So anyway, I know nothing about this film and maybe you're right, but that isn't what I saw via the "numbers" last night.
